Real Wedding: Chloe & Josh — A Day of Laughter, Love, and Light
As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of documenting countless love stories — but Chloe and Josh’s day was one of those rare gems where every moment sparkled with emotion, laughter, and just the right touch of chaos. From morning prep to the sparkler send-off, their wedding was an unforgettable celebration of love, family, and a whole lot of confetti.
A Morning of Magic at Brandshatch
Bridal prep began at the stunning Brandshatch Hotel, where the scene was already set for a morning full of joy. Chloe’s details — shoes, perfume, jewellery — were laid out with intention, each one whispering part of the day’s story. Her dress hung in timeless black and white, almost floating like a promise waiting to be fulfilled.
The suite buzzed with excitement as family members and bridesmaids filled the room with warmth and laughter. The makeup and hair team were phenomenal, creating looks that turned heads and held tears through the day. I’ll never forget the moment the dress was fastened — the flurry of hands, the gasps of excitement, the finishing touches all coming together in a beautiful chaos. The soft, natural window light spilled across Chloe, turning her bridal portraits into glowing, ethereal captures. These moments felt like stolen time — calm before the joyful storm.
Beers & Banter with the Boys
Meanwhile, Josh and his groomsmen were kicking things off at his family home. It was a laid-back vibe — a few laughs, a few beers, and the kind of friendship that made it obvious these guys were more than ready to support their groom.
They later arrived at the church looking dapper and focused. The group shots there? Effortless. These gents clearly understood the assignment — part style icons, part emotional support crew, all legends.
Father of the Bride — A Moment for the Ages
There are moments in a wedding day that take your breath away, and Ian’s reaction to seeing Chloe was exactly that. Standing at the foot of the grand staircase at Brandshatch, he saw his daughter in her full bridal glow and was instantly overcome. A few frames later, we had some of the most touching father-daughter photos I’ve ever taken — raw, real, and filled with love.
Where Love Runs in the Family
Chloe and Josh’s ceremony took place at the very church where Chloe’s parents were married, adding a beautiful layer of legacy to the day. Josh stood at the altar, trying his best to stay cool, calm, and collected, while guests filled the pews with warm anticipation.
The church itself was bathed in perfect light, making every frame rich with softness and clarity. There were laughs, knowing glances, joyful tears — and, of course, what we all agreed was the fastest first kiss in history (blink and you’d have missed it!). But the smiles that followed as they walked back up the aisle as husband and wife? Pure gold.
Confetti Chaos (The Good Kind)
Let me just say: I have never seen so much confetti in my life. It was like walking through a technicolour blizzard of joy. Laughter filled the air as petals rained down on Chloe and Josh, their grins barely visible through the storm of celebration. I’m pretty sure they were still finding bits of it in their hair by the time they reached the dance floor.
It was a joyful mess — and an absolute dream to capture.
Just Married: Churchyard Shenanigans
Before heading to Nurstead Court, we made the most of the church grounds for some relaxed couple portraits. Chloe and Josh kept the energy high — yes, there was still confetti, and yes, they threw it straight at my camera. I didn’t mind one bit.
The chemistry between them made every frame sing — romantic, cheeky, and completely in love.
Golden Hour Glow at Nurstead Court
Arriving at Nurstead Court, we found ourselves in a sun-drenched field that looked like it had been custom-built for romance. Chloe and Josh strolled through the rows hand-in-hand, laughing, bumping hips, and stealing kisses as the golden light wrapped around them.
One of my favourite moments? Chloe’s veil catching the wind during her solo portraits — she looked like a queen in a fairytale. And that forehead-to-forehead moment, sun flaring between them? Pure cinematic magic.
We wrapped up the shoot just in time for the couple to head back to their marquee for a dance under the stars.
Sparkler Magic to End the Night
No wedding of mine ends without a bit of sparkler magic, and Chloe and Josh’s send-off did not disappoint. Surrounded by their guests, they lit the night with golden trails of fire and joy. The smiles, the laughter, the kisses under crackling lights — it was the perfect way to close the chapter.
Final Thoughts
Chloe and Josh’s wedding was a perfect blend of tradition, laughter, and love — full of authentic moments that reminded me why I do what I do. From the intimate father-daughter moment to the confetti madness, from quiet portraits to glowing sparklers, every frame told a story worth remembering.
And to Chloe and Josh — thank you for letting me be part of your beginning. Your day was unforgettable, your love contagious, and your energy a joy to document.
Here’s to a lifetime of more magic just like this. 💫
