Emily & Josh’s Dreamy Day at Birtsmorton Court
If ever there was a fairytale wedding with a splash of sunshine, a touch of mischief, and a whole lot of elegance, it was Emily and Josh’s magical celebration at the historic Birtsmorton Court. Nestled in the Worcestershire countryside and wrapped in its own shimmering moat, the day unfolded like something from a classic romance novel — with a modern twist (and a few wheelbarrows full of beer).
A Calm Morning & a Cottage Full of Glam
The day began in one of Birtsmorton’s charming on-site cottages, where a serene calm set the perfect tone for bridal prep. The atmosphere was full of anticipation, laughter, and the gentle buzz of brushes and curling wands. @amyrosemakeupaertist worked her magic by soft window light, while @thehairstudiobyfrankie added the perfect finishing touches. The bridesmaids, glowing in elegant green, chatted around beauty mirrors nestled into a cozy little bedroom.

Groom Duties (and a Little Liquid Courage)
Just a stone’s throw away (almost suspiciously close), Josh and his groomsmen were also gearing up for the day. Buttonholes were pinned, gifts exchanged, and the classic “just one drink” pre-ceremony toast took place — because nerves are real, even for the coolest of grooms. The guys made their rounds with second shooter @ShaunPetersPhotography, showing off dapper suits and infectious energy.
The Dress Reveal & Family First Look
In a room overlooking the moat and kissed with warm sunlight, Emily stepped into her gown. The moment felt suspended in time. With final touches in place, she glowed — her mum was visibly moved, and rightly so. The emotional first look with her dad and younger brother brought even more happy tears, as they stood in awe of how stunning Emily looked.
A Ceremony Steeped in Tradition
Guests gathered at the quaint 14th-century church on the grounds, where Reverend Julie James led a heartfelt and traditional service. Surrounded by family, friends, and soaring hymns, Emily and Josh said their vows and sealed it all with a kiss, just as the bells rang out in joyful celebration.
Confetti & Cheers
What’s a countryside wedding without a flurry of confetti? Guests lined the path outside the old church, ready to shower the newlyweds in petals, love, and applause. The smiles were contagious — the kind of moment every couple dreams of.
Drinks on the Terrace – Sunshine & Sparkle
Under glorious sunshine, guests made their way to the terrace, encircled by the moat and gardens in full bloom. There, champagne stood in elegant formation, while wheelbarrows overflowed with chilled beers — the ultimate balance of class and charm. A drone hovered above to capture the whole joyful scene, just as laughter and glasses clinked in the White Garden.
Group Shots in the Golden Glow
With a venue as photogenic as Birtsmorton, there was no shortage of backdrops. The group shots took place just outside the White Garden, with the stately Court in view and sunlight pouring in like a warm blessing.
Portraits Fit for Royalty
Emily and Josh made full use of the grounds for their couple portraits. From the traditional metal bridge, where sunlight danced through the trees, to the regal gates where they looked every bit like a king and queen, each shot was more romantic than the last. A gentle walk by the moat — just the two of them — offered a few quiet moments amidst the joy.
Cake & Cheese – A Modern Twist
Breaking from tradition, the cake was cut earlier in the day (a trend that’s going strong into 2025!). The multi-tiered masterpiece stood tall and beautiful, and was soon joined by a stylish cheeseboard — a deliciously thoughtful touch for the evening meal.
Laughter & Love in the Linney
The Linney played host to the wedding breakfast and speeches, where heartfelt stories and a few perfectly timed jokes had the room buzzing with warmth. Toasts were raised, tears were wiped, and love was felt in every corner.

Sunset to Remember
As the day drew to a close, the skies turned golden — just in time for a sensational sunset shoot. Silhouettes, sun flares, gentle kisses and playful strolls made for swoon-worthy shots. Oh, and did we mention the hot air balloons drifting in the distance? Yep. Pure magic.
A Sparkling Surprise to End the Night
As darkness settled over Birtsmorton Court and the stars began to twinkle, Emily and Josh weren’t quite done celebrating. Armed with a bottle of bubbly and surrounded by cheers, they went for a classic champagne spray shot — and while the cork may have popped a tad earlier than planned (cue the surprised laughter!), we still captured the perfect moment. Under twinkling lights, with fizz in the air and grins all around, it was the most fitting finale to a day that was bursting with love, laughter, and a touch of spontaneity.
